Terms of Service

Welcome to Mise. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Mise app and related services ("Mise", "we", "our"). By creating an account or using Mise, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Mise.

1. The service

Mise helps you track your pantry, get recipe ideas based on what you have, reduce food waste, and optionally share a pantry with your household. Features may change, improve, or be discontinued over time.

2. Your account

You sign in with Apple. You're responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your device secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use Mise. You can delete your account at any time from within the app.

3. Acceptable use

Please use Mise for its intended purpose. Don't: misuse or attempt to disrupt the service, access it through unauthorized means, reverse-engineer it, use it to violate any law, or abuse the invite or sharing features (for example, to send unwanted invitations).

4. Your content

The pantry data you add (items, receipts, outcomes) is yours. By using Mise you grant us permission to store and process it to provide the service, including syncing it across your devices and to members of any household you join. You're responsible for the content you add and for having the right to share it.

5. Household sharing

If you create or join a household, pantry data in that household is visible to its members. Household features have limits (for example, a maximum number of members), which are shown in the app and may change. When you leave a household, you keep your own copy of the pantry, and data you contributed remains with the household for its remaining members.

6. AI-generated content

Mise uses AI to read receipts and generate recipe ideas. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete — always review it before relying on it. Recipes are suggestions, not professional nutritional or dietary advice.

Food safety. Expiration and freshness estimates in Mise are approximations to help you plan — they are not a guarantee that food is safe to eat, and they are not a substitute for your own judgment, product labels, or food-safety guidance. Always inspect food and follow safe food-handling practices. Do not rely on Mise to determine whether food is safe.

7. Subscriptions

Mise is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future, the applicable pricing and terms will be presented to you before you purchase, and any purchase will be handled through Apple's App Store subject to Apple's terms.

8. Disclaimers

Mise is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information (including expiry estimates or recipes) is accurate or complete.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mise and its creators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service.

10. Termination

You may stop using Mise and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Mise evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use Mise after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
